Triumfo arka@LRT. Copyright of Gonzalez in National Lithuanian Television
Parašė najuste | 2009-11-15 00:33This time I’d like to take you to Triumphal Arch (Triumfo Arka in LT) the clasical music contest in Lithuania. Professionals and non-professionals are coming on stage to perform fantastical shows from Weber musicals, Verdi operas, romances and all other brilliant master pieces.
Lithuanians adore the show ‘Triumphal Arch’ and are waiting all week to sit down in front of television on late Saturday’s evening. Just my little observations about the background music during the presentation of contesters do not let me listen leisurely. Before the participant of the contest is coming on stage, a small profile in the form of dialog is shown about each. Afterwards some live questions are asked. During those questions small pieces of music is played in background, and I recognized one of pieces being the introduction of Jose Gonzalez song. “Heartbeats” it should be called if I am not under misapprehension. I wonder if it’s not a copyright!!! Have National Lithuanian Television would bought the rights of J. Gonzalez song for transmitting it??? Isn’t that breach of copyright? In the presence of crisis, when due to the lack of budget the transition of the Second National Television Channel is going to be suspended? Fairly strange.
Despite the question of Gonzales song, tonight’s show was nice to see. Especially the end when two wonderfull actors: Asmik Grigorian (the first role as Miss Lavet) and Rafailas Karpis stepped on stage with an excerpt of marvellous musical “Sweeney Tod” created by Stephen Sondheim.
Sweeney Tod: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street created as a musical in 1979 talks to as from mid XIX age with old English language. The idea of Sweeney Tod was first created 1973 by Christopher Bond as a play. Afterwards it was produced and presentend by lot’s of producers in lot’s of stages and in different types. Now it is presented in Lithuania produced by Bohemia group by Dalia Ibelhauptaite and I’m going to see the musical and to evalute the work in two weeks. Hope, the copyrights are bought for that :)
